Jamelyn Heights Garden – Neerim East
By Diane Beddison
We visited a very special country garden, Jamelyn Heights Garden – Neerim East. Features near the entrance of this large country garden, included two circular hedges with curved faces and double flowering Wisteria’s inside them. There were also some stunning tree peonies. Long borders were filled with beautiful trees and many shrubs, perennials and annuals.
However, the real stars were the large variety of deciduous trees spaced appropriately and carefully maintained. The many variegated specimens, included a variegated Tulip tree and a Copper Beach with pink edges to its leaves. Weeping trees grafted high off the ground by the owner, resulted in a spectacular cascade of branches.
